Fight that hatred along with all anti-racists ...

Text about fighting antisemitism.

An Example of a Joint Fight

You've no doubt seen the photo from the days of the Civil Rights Movement of Dr. King marching with white priests and rabbis in a joint fight for justice.  That's a model.  The Deadly Exchange work was another good example.  Today Jews need to ally with the Black Lives Matter movement and groups that work for justice for racial minorities, LBGTQAI and women.  Don't pretend that the hate against Jews is something unique and something that gives Jews an excuse for cruelty or domination.

The ADL Shames Us

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL)  harms the fight against antisemitism by blurring and the difference between anti-Jewish hate and valid criticism of Israeli apartheid.  It pretends that it's fighting anti-Jewish hate from the Left and the Right, though it's well known that actual hated of Jews comes almost always from nationalists and fascists of the Right.  The ADL defends Israeli governments uncritically, castigates "Black Lives Matter" and wants people who make antisemitic statements, like Kyrie Irving, to contribute into ADL programs to make the criticism  go away.  The ADL also has deep ties with U.S. police and created a program for mutual police exchange between Israel and U.S. police departments.  In this "Deadly Exchange" U.S. police learn Israeli worst practices.  Minorities in the U.S. suffering under police injustice can scarcely ally with Jews to fight antisemitism on the basis of an alliance with the ADL.

His Cruel Comments will Result in More Antisemitism

Shmuel Eliyahu is a very prominent figure in Israel.  He's the Chief Rabbi of Safad. He's the father of the present Israeli "Heritage Minister".  The last Israeli Prime Minister (Bennett) reportedly wanted him to be chosen as one of the Chief Rabbis of Israel.

According to the Times of Israel he has said the earthquake that killed tens of thousands in Syria and Turkey was "divine justice" and that "“Everything that happens, happens in order to cleanse the world and make it better" and that "“We do not know what accounts [need to be settled] with Turkey, which has defamed us in every possible arena. But if God reveals to us and tells us that he is going to judge all our enemies, we just have to look and understand what is going on around us,”.  This man is so extreme that even the U.S. government has cancelled his visa to visit the USA.

People should just dismiss him as a jackass, but inevitably there will be people who will ignorantly see him as the face of "all Jews" and will use his disgusting comments as a justification for their antisemitism.

Eliyahu made his comment on 2/9/23.  As of 2/16, Jonathan Greenblatt @ADL, who reads the Times of Israel, has had nothing to say about Eliyahu.
